Divergent Nexus Australia Incorporated (DNA Inc.) ’s Social Enterprise is a community-led initiative creating flexible, affirming income pathways for Neurodivergent people who are often excluded from traditional employment.

This is not a requirement of membership. It is a separate, opt-in opportunity to participate in ethical, community-centred economic activity aligned with DNA Inc.’s values.

 

Why the Social Enterprise Exists

Many conventional employment systems are inaccessible by design. DNA Inc.'s Social Enterprise offers an alternative model, one that:

Values lived experience as expertise

Respects fluctuating capacity and access needs

Supports home-based, flexible, and self-directed work

Centres dignity, autonomy, and collective care

This is not charity. It is community economics, done differently.

Handmade Goods
Small-batch items created by community members, including artwork, sensory tools, zines, homeware, and care packs.

Digital Resources
Downloadable guides, templates, and tools grounded in lived experience and neuro-affirming practice.

Custom & Collaborative Services
Commissioned creative work, co-designed resources, facilitation, and lived-experience consultation.

All offerings are created at a pace that prioritises wellbeing, not productivity.

 

Local, Ethical, & Low-Waste

Where possible, we prioritise:

Locally sourced or recycled materials

Slow, low-waste production

Small-scale, community-based exchange

This supports people and planet, together.

 

How Income Works

Participants may earn income through:

Direct sales

Commissioned work

Facilitated projects or contracts

DNA Inc. provides platforms, promotion, and coordination where possible.

A portion of revenue may be reinvested into DNA Inc.'s community work to sustain advocacy, peer support, and accessibility initiatives.

No one is required to participate, produce, or sell.

Something new is growing at DNA Inc.

We are currently developing NeuroPathways: WorkLab to Employment, a neuro-affirming, strengths-based program exploring:

Job crafting Self-employment & micro-enterprise Workplace navigation Energy-aligned work Sustainable employment pathways Strengths-based work identity

Built from both lived and professional experience, this project comes from a simple belief:

We do not “fix” people to fit jobs. We shape work to fit people.

 

As we continue developing the program, we want community input from:

• Autistic & otherwise Neurodivergent people

• Families & supporters

• Employers & businesses

• Educators & practitioners

• Peer workers & advocates

• Organisations interested in collaboration or support

 

We want to know: What is missing from current employment systems? What would actually help? What should this program include? How should it be delivered?
